An exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and driven Financial Controller to join a dynamic and growing team. This permanent position is well suited to an individual who is looking to advance their career.

Based within the finance department, you will work closely with the Finance Director and Finance Manager in providing a hands-on, efficient and professional service. You will have the opportunity to make your mark and contribute fully as we expand the finance team.

Previous experience in a similar role and industry would be beneficial as is the ability to work efficiently and multi task in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility is key, as is a strong work ethic and being an excellent team player.

Duties include:

  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
  • Manage financial department staff
  • Ensure quality control over financial reporting and financial transactions, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded, filed and reported
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen, streamline, and generally improve internal controls and operations of our accounting system
  • Coordinate and direct the month-end and year-end close process
  • Overseeing the audit process and liaising with external personnel where required
  • Preparation of the budget and financial forecasts for the company based on research and data reports and report variances
  • Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction and improved turnover opportunities
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
  • Creating reports (annual and monthly) which identifies results, trends and forecasts
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting, making sure reporting meets compliant standards with statutory law and financial regulations
  • Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies
  • Coordinating the management of cash flow, debt and debt collection
  • Support the business with the financial strategy and decision-making processes
  • Helping the Finance Director in presenting reports to board members and external parties
  • Additional controller duties as necessary

Essential skills and experience:

  • Proven working experience as a Financial Controller
  • 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
  • CIMA / ACCA or ACA Qualified
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with creating financial statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
