About the Role

An opportunity for an Experienced Accounts Assistant to join an established firm on a Temporary to Permanent basis, based within the Birkenhead head office. Free Parking Available!

The firm are seeking a dynamic Accounts Assistant to take ownership of the AP ledger and provide general support to the Finance team during an exponential period of growth. The ideal candidate will be proactive in their approach to work with acute attention to detail.

Main Duties

  • Full responsibility for the AP ledger, processing invoices, reconciling supplier statements and general ledger housekeeping
  • Handling all supplier queries both telephone and email
  • Processing subcontractor PIs to SAGE
  • Collating and checking employee expenses for sign off by a Director & process to SAGE
  • Monthly supplier statement Recs, managing Supplier payment schedule in time for monthly payment runs
  • Assisting with the preparation of the weekly payment run
  • Ensuring PODs are matched and correct
  • Daily bank reconciliation
  • Providing general support to the department as and when required

Skills and Experience:

  • Have previous experience of working in a similar Accounts role
  • An ability to work with minimum direction using own initiative, with the ability to work under pressure
  • Have an accurate and methodical approach to work
  • A good working knowledge of Sage 50 and Microsoft office, particularly Excel
  • Good time management skills with the ability to multitask and meet conflicting deadlines
  • Good organisational skills
  • Professional and competent manner
  • AAT Desirable but not essential
