They are looking for a dynamic, energetic and enthusiastic Assistant Accountant to join their rapidly expanding team in Liverpool City Centre.

What will your day look like?

This will be a challenging, and rewarding role where you will:

  • Work with regional teams preparing monthly management accounts from client bookkeeping records.
  • Support nationwide audit teams by preparing statutory accounts from trial balance in line with UK reporting standards.
  • Preparing consolidated and management accounts.
  • Embed a continuous improvement ethic through effective monitoring and route cause analysis of errors and omissions
  • Be available to support new members of the team during their initial training.
  • Work extensively with bookkeeping and statutory accounting software packages together with proprietary workflow tools.
  • Deliver team outputs to agreed timescale, quality and volume.
  • Deal with internal queries from colleagues and teams across the UK.
  • Provide support to other colleague teams dependent upon the seasonality of core work.

What we need from you:

  • Over one year of experience in a similar role.
  • Capable of assisting and coaching junior members of staff.
  • Good knowledge of double-entry accounting and management accounts preparation is essential
  • Experience in using bookkeeping and statutory accounting packages.
  • IT skills - strong working knowledge of MS Excel, other MS products and similar desktop applications. Willingness to learn new systems is essential.
  • Well presented with a professional level of communication - both verbal and written
  • Good time management, organisation skills and the ability to prioritise and complete tasks with limited supervision.
  • Energised, enthusiastic and results orientated.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to use own initiative and take a flexible approach.
