About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Credit Controller to join a global shipping line based in Liverpool City Centre on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will report to the Credit Supervisor and will be responsible for contacting customers to ensure the settlement of invoices in line with agreed terms. Alongside the collection process, the successful candidate will be expected to be processing a high volume of account queries and transactions to ensure the clients goods/documentation are released on time. Due to this role requiring contact with a US customer base, the working hours are 11am - 7pm and 6 shifts per month 2-10pm Monday - Friday?

The Credit Controller will be responsible for:

  • Receiving payments and allocating to correct customer account
  • Monitoring payments performance with potential suspension of accounts, when required
  • Customer contact to ensure payments are made and handle any queries in a timely manner
  • Credit check new customers, process credit applications
  • Assist with other team members in busy periods
  • Account reconciliations

Essential Requirements are:

  • Previous experience within a financial environment
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to self-motivate and have a flexible approach to work
  • Strong team working capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Relationship building skills
