About the Role

An opportunity has arisen to for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a registered charity on a 6 month basis. The Payroll Officer will be responsible for accurate and timely payroll delivery in accordance with HM Revenue and Customs regulations and policies and procedures. This is an urgent role therefore an immediate start is available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively promote and recommend improvements to and the streamlining of current payroll practices and the integration with associated systems
  • Maintain an up to date working knowledge of all payroll related regulations including Auto-Enrolment, Real Time Information, minimum wage levels
  • Understand and be familiar with the payroll processes necessary to correctly pay staff ensuring that all pay and deductions are actioned accurate
  • Maintain accurate standing data files on all employees including starters and leaver data as advised by HR
  • Production of payslips, year-end reporting and all required supporting documentation
  • Processing of all pension and salary exchange related actions including full compliance with auto enrolment requirements
  • Undertake the reporting requirements in respect of pension schemes
  • Ensure that all engagement and payments to statutory agencies is undertaken within necessary time scales including correspondence and reporting to HMRC and DWP
