About the Role

Property Accountant

Required to complete yearly service charge reconciliations for commercial property and some multi-let properties.

Responsibilities

  • Print expenditure listings for the current and next year service charge, moving any items between years as necessary
  • Ensure all costs have been coded to correct schedule/codes
  • Check Interim Service Charge On Accounts for the period, move any item as necessary
  • Liaise with management surveyors with any queries before making any necessary journals
  • Prepare draft service charge certificate and apportionment schedules in Excel for approval by management surveyor
  • Balance the Service Account to agree to funds held on the client ledger within Tramps
  • When drafts have been signed off, make any further adjustments required, re-balance the service charge account
  • Raise the balancing service charge/credits to tenants using the Service Charge Task
  • Collate the service charge year end accounts for the Clients and tenants.
  • Send Client pack to document management system
  • Liaising with management surveyors to update annual budget
