About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Audit Assistant to join a Top 10 firm based in Liverpool. This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious candidate to join a firm that can offer genuine opportunities for progression.
As an Audit Assistant, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of audit for a varied portfolio of clients. This will include supporting client facing audit teams, quality assurance of audit set up and mentoring other members within the team
This is a varied and interesting role that is best suited to a candidate with proven experience from a similar position. Qualified AAT, part qualified ACCA / ACA or QBE candidates will also be considered for this position.

Working within a large team and reporting into the Team Manager, the Audit Assistant will be responsible for:
- Support regional client facing audit teams with multiple aspects of the annual audit process by
- Providing Quality Assurance of audit file set up, report generation, use of a derivative valuation software and casting and consistency reviews of financial statements
- Mentoring and supervising more junior members of the Audit Hub
- Becoming involved in training new Hub Assistants to perform audit file set up
- Work extensively with BDO’s proprietary audit support systems and processes
- Deal with internal queries with colleagues and teams across BDO UK
- Provide support to other colleague teams dependent upon seasonality of core work
- Assist in the promotion and development of the service offering of the Audit Support hub
Essential Requirements are:
- AAT Qualified / Part Qualified ACCA or ACA / QBE
- Relevant audit or accounts work experience
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Professional level of communication - both verbal and written
- Good time management, organisation skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and complete tasks with limited supervision
- Ability to work well in a team environment - mentoring/supervising experience is advantageous
- Ability to use own initiative and take a flexible approach
