About the Role

A successful legal firm based in Liverpool is looking for an experienced Accounts Manager to join their team on a 10-month contract, to cover a period of maternity. This is a stand-alone position reporting to the company director. The Accounts Manager will have full responsibility for the accounts function, including bank reconciliations, purchase ledger and billing processes. In order to be considered for this role, it is essential to have previous experience within a legal practice.

The Accounts Manager will be responsible for:

Processing purchase ledger including direct debits and invoices

Raising cheque requests and banking cheques

Allocating incoming payments

Processing outgoing payments via BACS/CHAPS

Disbursement write offs

Processing quarterly VAT returns

Running month end and year end

Essential Requirements are:

Solicitor Accounts Rules knowledge/training

Previous experience within a legal practice, ideally 3+ years

Anti-money laundering training is desirable

Ability to work on own initiative

Strong organisational skills
