Working within a busy team of Financial Advisors, the Pension Transfers Specialist will be responsible for providing technical research and analysis to Advisors and reviewing new and existing pension schemes.

As this is a senior level placement, my client requires a candidate with proven experience in a similar role and relevant industry qualifications including the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, the Certificate in Pension Transfer Advice and other advanced pension related qualifications.

Key responsibilities for the Pension Transfer Specialist:

  • Responsible for providing technical assistance and research to a team of Financial Advisors
  • Undertake analysis and review of transferring pension schemes, income drawdown and phased retirement plans
  • Identify outstanding pension information as required
  • Ensure all client information and facts are up to date for analysis review to be undertaken
  • Prepare client reports in relation to pension planning, pension transfers and retirement income options
  • Liaise with Advisers and keep up to date of progress and any outstanding requirements
  • Liaise with ceding pension schemes/providers to obtain pension information as required
  • Ensure all paperwork is compliant within company and FCA guidelines
  • Maintain technical and industry knowledge and continual professional development
  • Maintain service levels and undertake work within agreed timescales

Essential Requirements are:

  • You ­must have a solid background from the financial services industry in a similar role
  • An excellent understanding of pension and investments and current pension rules
  • Understand and be able to calculate allowable pension contributions taking into consideration existing pension arrangements, the Annual Allowance and carry forward
  • Understand and be able to calculate the effects of pension contribution tax relief on an individual’s tax computation
  • Understand and be able to explain clearly the impact of pension rules for high earners in respect of the Annual and Lifetime Allowance including transitional protection
  • Confident and professional communication skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
  • Experience in providing pension transfer advice including DB schemes
