A successful Motor Retail organisation based in Chester is currently looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of the purchase ledger process, cash book management and credit control knowledge would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be joining an established and busy team, the main responsibilities will be ensuring supplier payments are authorised and processed in line with agreed timelines.

The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Processing a high volume of invoices
  • Matching, batching and coding supplier invoices
  • Supplier statement reconciliations
  • Supplier payment runs via BACS and cheque
  • Handling supplier queries in a timely manner
  • Posting cash book journals
  • Chasing overdue invoices
  • Allocating incoming cash and cheques

Essential Requirements are:

  • Motor Trade experience is beneficial
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work in a high volume environment
  • Strong IT skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
